What Wattpad?
We have yet to see how such concerns can be addressed or allayed, especially given how relatively young a platform Wattpad is. In the Philippines especially, there are few if any laws that protect intellectual property rights even at the level of traditional publishing, and safeguarding online intellectual property rights is an as-yet emerging concern. There are groups, however, that are working to improve this situation, though it is obviously an uphill battle. It remains to be seen how the dynamics between traditional- and self-publishing would play out in the coming years.
