Welcome to Streetprint Manila

Streetprint Manila is a research project that is part of a larger research endeavour called “Six Continents and Between”. Initiated by Prof. Gary Kelly of the University of Alberta, 6CAB seeks to investigate popular print culture across various geographical, sociocultural, and ethnolinguistic contexts. More specifically, it aims to look at reading patterns and preferences of the Filipino Everyman, or those whom we would largely consider members of the “masa” class.

Notes: Abra is an up and coming rap artist who has collaborated with other big musical artists such as Gloc-9. "Gayuma", the carrier single for his debut album Abra, is about a man who falls in love with a woman, who is later revealed to be transgendered, and who used a love potion on him. The song is the most viewed Filipino song on Youtube, with over 28 million hits. The song won Favorite Music Video and Favorite Urban Video at the Myx Music Awards 2013.
